Life moves pretty fast.

If you don’t stop and look around once in a while,

You could miss it.

_Ferris Bueller

I have been feeling for a while that I am losing the minutes of my day at a faster rate than I am comfortable with.  Wasn’t it yesterday Sheri and I had only one kid?  I blinked and now see three hilarious, noise-making gigglers fill up our hearts.  It just seems like it’s all moving too fast at times and I want that pause button to appear.

I want to not forget the look on his face when I walk in.

I want to burn in my brain her look-backs as she passes through the kindergarten door.

I want to always hold little hands on walks.

I want the mispronounced words to never fade.

But they will.

And if the current trend holds, I will love that next phase all the more because that’s what a history of love does.  Each chapter makes your heart grow if we let it.

The bible got it right, every phase has it’s beauty.  Don’t miss it.

Take minute to remember that with this video for ThinkOrange (and maybe grab a Kleenex before you hit play…)

  1. Thanks for posting, Joel. Being on the other side, you’re right. It does go way too fast. (Daughter is now a junior in college) They always said it goes fast, but man… it really does.
